Where it all began
Rooted in a simple, homegrown life
I spent fifteen years as a homeschooling mom on a beautiful piece of land in the Garden Route of South Africa, surrounded by family, nature, and the rhythm of a very simple life. I had a small business making baby slings and earth friendly nappies and my days revolved around raising my daughter (adjusting to motherhood!!) and bringing in a small income.
The birth of nourish
A tiny idea that grew into something real
In 2012, wanting to support myself more fully, I began making soap — just small batches at first. What started as a small idea slowly blossomed into Nourish Natural Soaps. This was followed by years of markets, wholesale orders, loyal customers, and a business that grew alongside me.
All through those years, I also designed my own websites — not because I had to, but because I genuinely loved it.
Playing with colours, layouts, and imagery was always fun and effortless and allowed me to put my own vibe into Nourish Natural Soaps.
Loss, change, becoming
Life shifted, and so did I
Over time my life changed in profound ways.
My daughter grew up and became a young adult. In 2018 I was widowed and five years later my mother passed away - experiences that reshaped me entirely. Needless to say they turned my world upside down but it also meant new directions opened for me.
As these past years have unfolded, I've felt myself getting ready for a new chapter, one that felt more spacious, slower, and truer to who I am becoming. With my daughter leaving home and moving to the Netherlands, I feel that a new passion is tugging at me. One that is more mobile and adaptable. Allowing space for some yearly stints in Europe and a new creative outlet for me.
Returning to the thread that held me
I found my way back to design
Somehow, as the years passed me by, I have been guided back to the one thing that had always quietly lit me up: web design. Something I explored doing shortly after my hubby passed away and which now has come back to me a second time.
This new path feels like a gentle homecoming — a returning to something I’ve loved all along.
A life woven with creativity
Creativity opened a new door
As I step into this new chapter, my creativity is unfolding in unexpected ways. Cutting back on making soap has allowed all my other creative passions to come rushing back! I have started knitting, sewing and designing in various other ways besides just digitally. Such fun!
These practices are actually bringing me back to myself — after years of pouring everything into my soap business, they are inviting me into a quieter, more grounded way of living.
So these days, life is slower.
I savour peaceful mornings, walk my dogs around our beautiful property, and sip my coffee while dreaming up new creative ideas.
This new chapter feels like home — spacious, grounded, and filled with the quiet joy of creating once again, from the heart.
What matters to me
Away from my work, I’m simply a woman shaped by life — by loss, by creativity, and by the steady process of growing into myself.
These years have shaped me into a passionate, grounded woman filled with new ideas and creativity. I love what I am becoming and the support that I am finding all around. I am following my intuition and taking the steps forward as they unfold before me
